New syrup cooker system for the Banketgroep
Soon the current syrup cooker of the Banketgroep will be replaced by an innovative installation of Orangeworks. Thanks to an intensive and efficient cooperation between the two companies, the project has a short lead time. "We really do it together."
Creative thinking in development
The syrup cooker of the Banketgroep, the largest supplier of syrup waffles and syrup cakes in Europe, is due for replacement after 31 years. In the autumn of 2017, the search started for a supplier of a new syrup distillery. Jos Verhoeven, R & D employee and specialist stroopwafels: "We chose Orangeworks because they had innovative methods and ideas for the syrup production, and they really wanted to contribute to the development phase. We have not once heard them say 'We always do it this way ‘."
Customization
Mark Bongers is project manager at Orangeworks: "When we received the application from the Banketgroep, we set to work in a small team, including a process technologist who has knowledge of syrup preparations. We further developed our ideas together with the Banketgroep. This was followed by a quote and gaining the assignment. We think it is important to always look at how we can offer the best result for our customer. Taking into account ergonomics, cleaning, efficiency and affordability. "
Efficient collaboration
Co Henneveld is interim project leader at the Banketgroep. The short leadtime - the construction of the equipment started in January and is ready at the end of April - is extraordinary, he says. "The final phase of engineering is now being completed and at the same time building of the equipment has started. This is possible thanks to the experience of Orangeworks." The teams of the Banketgroep and Orangeworks also work together intensively and efficiently. "Once a week we have consultations with the team and we work together with an online tool so that we all have the same information at all times. Communicating via Skype and sharing computer screens also saves a lot of time."
Realization phase
In the coming weeks it will be busy at Orangeworks. Mark: "We have the stainless-steel components ready and parts ordered from suppliers are delivered. Meanwhile we are building: first the frame, followed by the tanks and subsequently the piping." The system integrator of the industrial automation supplier is also closely involved. Co: "He designs the software, an important part of the process, he knows the Banketgroep systems and consults frequently with the Orangeworks team." In mid-April the new equipment will be tested at Orangeworks and then transported and installed at the Banketgroep (also see our video on the vertical start-up method in this newsletter). "We will be testing for four weeks in a different area, so that the current production process is not obstructed, and during which time our employees also get the chance to familiarize themselves with the new equipment."
Enthusiastic
Co and Jos are enthusiastic about the collaboration. "Orangeworks is professional and reliable. Above all the way we work together, and the flexibility has a lot of added value: we do not just buy a machine, we develop an innovative system together."
